WP Archives: Paul Murray & Who (Feb 19 2012)

As rumours grow of a Paul Murray Blue Knights consortium including some familiar moneyed supporters, one name keeps appearing, that of Douglas Park. He has money, that is true. Can he rescue the club? Well that is a different question. He would need to be joined in “the blue knights” by others with serious cash. For the purposes of this article it may be useful to assume that the money is indeed there and that some type of deal can be reached with HMRC.

Lets fast forward then to a mythical place where the club is debt free, Craig Whyte and co are gone and  Murray’s knights are in place forming a new board.

Obviously Murray fancies himself to be Chairman, so that’s a given.
Park will clearly have a role to play,  as will some money men.

They will then set about restructuring the club and appointing people in to key positions. Who could possibly be lined up to be Chief Executive?

I understand that Douglas Park recently entertained Martin Bain in his office for a number of hours. I also understand he never hired a coach or bought a car. Could he then be in line to return to the club?

Is the “Blue Knights” an idea that just appeared this week, or has it been planned for some time?
